TALK is a new digital parenting support service that is being piloted in Cornwall until the end of September. It is a simple-to-use, live chat run by Action For Children early years support workers, who you can talk to about any parenting issue or questions you might have. This could include managing the home, budgeting, bedtime routines, weaning, potty training or behaviour issues, to name a just a few.
Who is it for?
TALK will support any parents and families with under 5s who may have questions or need support, but don’t know who or where to go to. Parents may have a question that they don’t want to speak to someone face to face about, but like the idea of doing it online in the comfort of their own home. You might be a professional who knows a family that needs a little bit of extra support and would be happy to receive it in this new innovative way.
Action for Children believe that this service will be a valuable resource for families. Parents will get individually, tailored support and will be able to chat to the same person when they return to the site, as many times as they want.
How does it work?
The conversation is a live and private chat or phone call. Other than the online team no one else can see it. Parents can give as much or as little information about themselves and their situation as they feel comfortable. Safeguarding is always our priority and we have robust guidelines we adhere to.
It is an easy to use online platform and all that is needed to register is an email address. The email address provided is for registration purposes only.
