TrAIL - Truro Art in IsoLation
This is Truro Art In IsoLation (TrAIL). An inclusive project for anyone in the Truro area (and beyond) set up by Laura Graven. It’s a community project which aims to brighten up Truro in these uncertain times. This group inspired by the rainbow posts Laura had seen with the hope we can extend it in the coming weeks.
You can get as involved as you like, create your artwork, help organise, or simply be a spectator. The idea is to create artworks with a theme each week in order to create an art ‘Trail’ around Truro and possibly beyond.
Each week will have a different theme for art making with those in your household who would like to take part. Then you’ll simply share your artwork in a window or somewhere visible so people can walk around the town art spotting. We can share pictures and set up ‘a treasure hunt’ of sorts so that if our walking we can spot another’s artwork.
Although this is with children in mind, anyone is welcome to take part. Laura is an Art Teacher with two young children and she will put together resources each week with a different art making project that can be interpreted with whatever materials you have available to you.
Laura will create ‘project’ sheets with a focus each week but where you decide to take each starting point will be entirely up to you..
The aim would be that you create the art (with your children or by yourself), share an image on the TrAIL Facebook page of what you’ve created, and then if you want to share your location that’s entirely up to you. The artwork could even be put up on a lamppost or in a local park if that is more appropriate for you.
A project like this will hopefully develop organically so any suggestions would be very welcome. In particular, if you have any ideas on how to create a map?!
Hopefully, if the project works, it will us a new activity each week, that aims to distract but also unite!
